AI and sustainability

Who is this course for?​

The course is intended for students with an interest in sustainable development, socioeconomic changes, sustainability transitions and how AI may have a role in sociotechnical and societal transformations.

What will you learn from this course?

The course introduces the concept of sustainable development and its multiple dimensions from different social science perspectives. The course also introduces central models and concepts for understanding and explaining transition processes on a system level. The course covers how to understand these processes from a business perspective and what role AI can play in these processes.

What is the format for this course?

Instruction type: The course is delivered fully online and in English. It consists of seminar sessions delivered through Zoom, self-study material, and assignments.

Frequency: The course consists of one introductory lecture and three seminars, distributed over a total of about 10 weeks.

Examination: The exams consist of written assignments, which are delivered as drafts before each seminar and as final versions after each seminar. The grades of Pass/Fail is awarded for each of the assignments and for the complete course.
