Artificial Intelligence (AI) is one of our time’s most impactful technologies, with far-reaching effects on individuals, organizations, society, and the planet. In order to make the best use of this technology, we need to aim it at important problems worth solving. Transition to circular business models is one such problem area.
This course is for anyone interested in designing AI-powered services to accelerate the transition to circularity.
What will you learn from this course?
The aim of the course is for the student to understand what circular economy is and how it can be a key for business strategy to address environmental goals. You will get a deeper understanding of how circular business models can be achieved by using design of digital services, digital transformation, and artificial intelligence (AI) as enablers.
The course looks at the role digital technology and AI can play in circular business transformation. It explores what circular economy is, why it is a key for business survival and meeting climate challenges, and how circular business models can be enabled using data-driven services.
You will learn how to formulate requirements for, and select, appropriate tools and metrics for specific circularity and sustainability objectives, and systematically analyze and prioritize the steps needed to initiate a circular transformation from a digitalization and data perspective.
What is the format of this course?
The teaching consists of lectures and case studies, as well as practical exercises with supervision.
Instruction Type: The course consists of video lectures (in English) and supervision.
Frequency: This course is flexible (you can attend in real-time, or watch recordings of the videos). The course runs for six weeks.
Examination: The course is assessed with a written project report assignment on a business case.
